The Artist

My work explores the unseen relationships that connect living systems.

Working with acrylic, ink, natural fibers, and handmade papers, I begin each painting without a fixed image in mind. Instead, I create conditions for discovery - allowing water, pigment, gravity, and chance to establish the first marks before slowly responding to what emerges. The process becomes a conversation between intuition and observation.

Nature continually reminds us that very little exists in isolation. Forests communicate through vast fungal networks beneath the soil. Aspen groves that appear to be individual trees are often one living organism connected through an ancient shared root system. These quiet discoveries challenge our assumptions about individuality and invite us to consider connection in broader terms.

Rather than documenting the natural world, my paintings seek to evoke its underlying rhythms—growth, memory, interdependence, and transformation. Organic forms dissolve into imagined landscapes and microscopic structures, existing somewhere between observation and abstraction.

I hope each piece creates space for curiosity and reflection, encouraging viewers to pause and consider both the mystery of the natural world and our place within it.

instinctive - something we feel,
just as much as we see."
